FEMOSPHERE Fitness with Soft Balls

FEMOSPHERE Fitness is a participatory performance framed as a fitness class, using soft balls as equipment to decenter men and challenge patriarchal norms. Each audience member is given two handmade “soft balls” and invited to follow the instructor’s movements in rhythm with the music. As the class unfolds, the instructor’s narrative intensifies, shifting from a focus on decentering men to an explicit “fuck the patriarchy,” while embracing softness as a feminist, revolutionary strategy. Through humour, play, and collective movement, the work subverts patriarchal power structures, ultimately transforming into an immersive, high-energy dance party.

First presented at the Concrete Cabaret on April 26, 2026, in BSMT 254 in Toronto, Ontario.
